Woman, 74, dies after driving under semi-truck in Salt Lake County

SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT – A 74-year-old woman was killed around 4:40 am Tuesday after driving under a semi-truck in Salt Lake County.

Gephardt Daily said the crash took place at Highland Drive outside of Macey’s parking lot, near 4530 S. Highland Drive. The red Coca-Cola semi-truck came out of the parking lot and drove north. The 74-year-old woman was driving south and slammed into the truck.

The woman then went under, and the truck took off a large portion of the woman’s car. She died at the scene.

Police have identified her as Linda Shelton Beeman of Millcreek.

The semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and told authorities the woman ran a red light. However, officials have not been able to confirm this
