SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT – Two 9-year-old boys were struck by an SUV Wednesday, FOX 13 Now reported.
The car accident occurred at 11400 South Street. The time of the crash was not reported.
The South Jordan Police Department said the SUV driver was a 44-year-old woman. She was driving her black GMC Yukon SUV when she swerved off the road and hit the children before stopping. One boy was riding an e-bike at the time of the incident.
Officials said the woman was not driving impaired and that she was cooperating with investigators.
Following the accident, the boys were transported to Primary Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. In a recent update, one of the 9-year-old boys died, while the other survived and is now in stable condition.
