Narrative

MIDVALE, UT – One teen died, and another sustained serious injuries Saturday in crash along a major roadway on the northeast side of Midvale.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. along Fort Union Boulevard between South 700 East and South 900 East. This is just north of Hillcrest High School

Police say that wet roads caused the 17-year-old driver of an SUV to lose control of their vehicle and hit the rear of a parked 18-wheeler.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene of the wreck.

Medics transported a 19-year-old passenger to the hospital with critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
