Narrative
ORDERVILLE, UT – Medics transported 14 members of a running group to the hospital Thursday after their van collided with a semi-truck on the highway.
The collision occurred on US-89 near milepost 83, which is between Orderville and Mt. Carmell.
The investigation thus far indicates that for unknown reasons, a southbound van carrying 14 people, veered into the northbound lane of US-89 and crashed head-first into a semi-truck. A third vehicle then hit the van.
Three people from the van sustained critical injuries, and eleven others were hurt and required hospitalization.
The drivers of the semi and the third vehicle were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
