Narrative
WEST VALLEY CITY, UT – Three people died, and three others sustained injuries in a 3-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in West Valley City on Friday.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of 3500 South and Mountain View Corridor, which is just south of the Walmart Supercenter.
The investigation indicates that a westbound vehicle neglected to stop for a red light and T-bone crashed with a southbound vehicle. The first vehicle then struck a third vehicle.
Three people in one of the vehicles died from injuries sustained in the accident. One person from another vehicle went to the hospital with serious injuries, and two people sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
The investigation is ongoing.
