WEST VALLEY CITY, UT – Two people died Wednesday in a 2-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler along the highway in West Valley City.
The incident happened around 10:24 p.m. in the area of southbound 3500 South Mountain View Corridor, which is just east of Hunter Park.
Police say that two people in a passenger car sustained fatal injuries after colliding with a semi-truck. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims.
The truck driver was not hurt in the accident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. At this time, authorities do not suspect intoxication on the part of either driver but do think that one of the drivers may have committed a traffic violation.
