Narrative
TOOELE, UT – Eleven people were hurt last Friday when a semi-truck hauling gravel cashed into the outdoor sales area at a car dealership in Tooele.
The incident happened around 1:45 p.m. on North Main Street at West 1000 North, which is just east of Fieldstone Park in north Tooele.
Police say that the semi-truck crashed once further south on Main Street before proceeding to crash into the sales lot at Tooele Motor Company, ultimately damaging 27 vehicles and hurting 11 people.
Medics reported that one of the 11 victims sustained critical injuries. It’s unclear how many of the remaining 10 were hospitalized.
Police say it’s possible that the brakes on the semi-truck malfunctioned. The crash is under investigation.
