Narrative
PAYSON, UT – A two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck and a sedan killed two women and injured another early Thursday morning in Payson.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-15 near the exit for West 800 South, which is near the Walmart Supercenter.
Police say that an 18-wheeler crashed and overturned across several lanes of the interstate. A short time later, the driver of a northbound Honda Civic crashed into the wrecked semi.
Authorities pronounced the driver and front-seat passenger in the Honda deceased at the scene of the accident. They’ve not yet released the victims’ identities to the public.
Medics transported a rear passenger to the hospital with critical injuries.
The truck driver sustained only minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
