LOGAN CANYON, UT – According to 2KUTV News, three people were killed in a head-on crash that took place on Highway 89 just south of Bear Lake on Wednesday.
The crash was reported approximately five miles south of Bear Lake shortly after 3:00 p.m., near mile marker 489. Authorities say a driver of a Kia Rio was traveling south on Highway 89 when it drifted into oncoming traffic in the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Ford Excursion.
The 21-year-old female driver of the Kia and a 24-year-old passenger in the vehicle were both killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the backseat of the Kia sustained serious injuries in the accident. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment following the crash, but one was later pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
