Narrative
ST. GEORGE, UT – A female pedestrian died on Wednesday night after a vehicle struck her along a busy roadway in St. George.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. in the area of Bluff Street and 500 North Street, which is just west of Pioneer Park and St. George Narrows.
It’s not yet clear what may have caused the driver to run over the pedestrian, who died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. They say the driver of the vehicle did stop to render aid and answer questions.
Officials encouraged motorists to avoid the area while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
